Marine Dream is well named. At the far end of the Plaka beach road it is situated in an area of tranquility, with birdsong like music and lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves on the nearby long sandy beach. Our first floor studio had everything we needed and was very comfortable with a magnificent view of Paros and the sunset, as well as an opportunity to gaze at the stars, the moon and the Milky Way. There was plenty of room at the front for parking and the perimeter was planted with beautiful flowering bushes, with a layer of attractive, white marble chipping leading up to the entrance steps. From the back you can look up into the hills across the fields. Maria is so kind and helpful and keeps everywhere, including the rooms very clean, as well as providing a breakfast basket with tea/coffee, jam, honey, butter and Greek crispy breakfast bread, which is a lovely way to start the day. It is a 10 minute walk along a sandy track to the nearest bus stop, which takes about 30 minutes into Naxos Hora and runs every half hour in season (buy your tickets in advance from the supermarket). The walk to Aghi Anna is about 45 minutes and there are tavernas dotted along the route. Nearer to Marine Dream we would recommend Maistrali, Petrino, Nicos & Maria’s and Voula’s tavernas.

Lovely quiet studio on the edge of plakia, near mostly deserted sandy beaches. We went to sleep and woke to the sound of the waves lapping on the shore- marvellous! We were met at the port by the owners son and driven to our accommodation, he then also drove us to the supermarket because it was raining! Great stay, would recommend eating at petrinos, a shortish walk towards plaka on the road. This is the place for peace and tranquility. Also, great facilities at a good price.

the owner (Maria) and her son did all to try and help us- from renting a scooter, to taking us from and to the port with their own car. this is a basic hotel but with excellent service. the location is perfect on the south end of Plaka beach. where very few people are along the beach. the Supermarket (or better say hotel minimarket) is not very far but with not a lot of variety and a little expensive. we bought most of the stuff using our scooter in town. Plaka is the only beach we visited in July where you can enjoy naturism on Naxos. from the beach near the hotel all the way up north to the other side of the beach (near the Saint Nicholas church- near Paradiso) you have parts with nude sun seekers, however the best location for non senior couples like ourselves would be either near this hotel or on the other side near Saint Nicholas. we preferred the later for windy days because of the hided locations near the rocks.
